she - Why did you create this work?
I created "How To Stop Hating Men" as my graduation project for my Bachelor's degree in Illustration at Shenkar College Tel Aviv. Through this 132-page book of autobiographical comics, I explore subtle everyday misogyny and gender inequality in our society. Rather than focusing on overt sexism, I illustrate the 'gray areas' - those small, confusing interactions that often go unnoticed but impact our daily lives. Aya Niv is a 25-year-old illustrator from Tel Aviv, Israel. A graduate of Shenkar College's Visual Communication program with a focus on illustration, she completed her degree in August 2024. Her work explores themes of femininity, body image, human behavior, and social issues through graphic novels and comics.
