Why did you choose to enter this work?
It was one of the most fun projects of the year, commissioned by an amazing team with whom I immediately found incredible creative chemistry.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I'd say the fact that the drink recipes and the illustrations were developed simultaneously, influencing each other rather than one simply describing the other. And of course, the pigeon glass.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It's surreal to have been chosen among so many incredibly talented illustrators from all over the world!
Where do you usually work?
Oh, I literally work everywhere. Sometimes I even find myself drawing in the shower.
How long did it take to complete your project?
This project was completed in a couple of months of focused work.
What is your dream commission?
I’d love to be able to apply my work to the world of interior design, sooner or later. It would be amazing to bring the world I have in my mind into livable or immersive spaces.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I just love making up silly creatures.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Don’t lose your will to experiment and to step out of your comfort zone!
What are your plans for the future?
I hope I continue to be lucky enough to do work that makes me feel fulfilled and happy. Also, I'd love a banana-shaped sofa.
