Why did you choose to enter this work?
I chose this work because it reflects my idea of illustration: a dynamic yet welcoming composition that captures everyday life with warmth, detail, and a touch of tradition.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
It was the research process, shops, daily gestures, scenic materials and their flaws that truly moved me, from the first sketch to the final artwork.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
It’s an immense honour to be recognised by artists and professionals worldwide. It strengthens my belief that I’ve found my path and that its results can be seen and shared.

Where do you usually work?
I work from a space at home that I call my studio though I often refer to it as my lab, since I also use it for printmaking and clay sculpture alongside illustration.

How long did it take to complete your project?
The creative process took a couple of weeks, but from initial sketches to the final piece, including adjustments along the way, it took around a month and a half.

What is your dream commission?
To tell meaningful stories through illustration, reaching a wide audience and maybe, in some small way, changing someone’s life.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I love drawing things that struggle to reveal their beauty. It’s the most exciting challenge and the toughest test for any illustrator.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Draw, always and everywhere. It’s how we understand the way we see the world and, in the end, how we begin to understand who we are.

What are your plans for the future?
Take a break but never from drawing. A sketchbook and a pencil are always with me.
