Why did you choose to enter this work?
The publisher commissioned me to illustrate a wide variety of unusual fish species with great creative freedom, resulting in work that let me explore and express my own style.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The textures! I really enjoyed developing various digital textures to reflect the variety of seafood.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
The chance to connect with other illustrators across the globe and expand my work internationally.
Where do you usually work?
I work from both my home studio and a studio I share with 3 other very talented Book Designers.
What is your dream commission?
A fully illustrated clothbound series of classic books - with all the fancy finishes!
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Without a doubt, food.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
When working on commissioned projects, satisfy the brief while staying true to your own style in the process.
