Why did you choose to enter this work?
This project really allowed me to explore creating a large scene with many components. It also employs interesting editorial devices, allowing the reader's interaction through their engagement.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
The reaction from those that read and interact with it, and them trying to identify all of the various movies referenced throughout.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
The opportunity to hopefully reach new audiences.
Where do you usually work?
I work digitally, and whilst I like to work from a desk in the corner of my home where I’m set up to create work at my best, I like the flexibility of being able to work from anywhere from my laptop.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Far longer than I expected!
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Anything related to Mediterranean mythology.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
It's a cliche, but just keep creating and churning work out - whether that’s commissioned or personal work. The more you create, the more you develop, and the more you will grow.
What are your plans for the future?
Continuing to develop my practice,
