Why did you choose to enter this work?
This piece shows my style’s evolution: familiar elements to my other work, but with new colours, realistic details and multiple panels. It's a marker for my style’s growth, so it felt right to enter.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
It was my first time using multiple panels in one piece. I loved how it let me explore a travel memory in more depth and create a specific mood through detailed, connected scenes.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Being shortlisted brings exposure and hopefully some new opportunities, but above all it’s encouraging to see my work recognised. It's a real motivation boost to keep evolving as an illustrator.
Where do you usually work?
My work desk is where you'll find me the least. With my iPad in hand I draw while travelling, on planes and trains, in cafés or simply from my comfy couch. My workspace is wherever I happen to be.
How long did it take to complete your project?
This one flowed out naturally, no hesitation, just joy in drawing. It only took a few days to finish, which is unusually quick for me. Sometimes the best work comes easily!
What is your dream commission?
My dream is to illustrate a travel-themed book. Whether a guide or personal story, I’d love to bring different destinations to life with vibrant, atmospheric illustrations.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Anything travel-related, from scenic landscapes to cultural snapshots! I love capturing the feeling of a place and giving it a bright, vibrant twist through my illustrations.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
It’s okay not to have everything figured out when you start sharing your work. Just keep making, even when you’re unsure. Confidence grows the more you create, trust the process ;)
What are your plans for the future?
I want to keep on traveling, gather new inspiration, and keep developing my style through drawing. And who knows, maybe I’ll take my dream commission into my own hands and create my own travel book!
