Why did you choose to enter this work?
I'm really proud of this one---so were everyone I knew when they saw my work on the bus for the first time. I thought maybe I can give a chance for it.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love everything on it---composition, colors, even the cute creature I made.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Call me nationalist but I'm a proud Indonesian to bring one of my work to the most prestigious international illustration award. Big shot.
Where do you usually work?
I'm a mother so I work in the dining room. I have a shared studio with my husband but mostly I work in the center of my house.
How long did it take to complete your project?
Surprisingly this piece took around one week only---from sketching to final.
What is your dream commission?
Making some big fabric installation in public place.
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Plants! Flexible, pretty, I can do as much as I want. It could be the main object or the decorative one.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Procrastination can lead to another masterpiece *thumbs up*
What are your plans for the future?
I just want to sleep 8 hours per day.
