Why did you choose to enter this work?
The complexity of detail in an idea that was presented in a simple and straightforward way was a set of elements that I consider interesting to present in a competition.
What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I think the soft movement of the smell is what I like the most and at the same time the hardest thing for me to achieve.
What excites you most about being shortlisted?
The possibility to show my work to new people and connect with them.
Where do you usually work?
I tend to work at home with a large graphic tablet but in the initial brainstorming or composing process I tend to go out to a coffe shop or a library.
How long did it take to complete your project?
I had about a week. I remember I spent the weekend doing the animation because it was optional, not required from the beginning.
What is your dream commission?
I would like to find a publisher interested in a children's book I have recently made.- Living from personal projects would be the dream
What’s your favourite thing to draw?
I like to draw about human nature. The concept or metaphor motivates me, if I find it the form is justified.
What is your best tip for other illustrators?
No specific as everyone is already in one direction by inertia, I think looking at that gives clues about one's own identity, which can lead to one's own personal voice.
What are your plans for the future?
Taking time for personal projects.
