Why did you choose to enter this work?
I think this cover works quite accurately with Wells' text, matching with his eccentric world. The cover is a great medium in general, because you have to tell so much with just one picture.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
Since I often work with a limited palette, it was really fun to make such a bright and colorful picture.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
Recognition from colleagues is important for me. After all, we all draw a lot of pictures and look at a lot of pictures, and knowing that people I respect have looked at mine and chosen them is nice.

Where do you usually work?
My main work tool is my finger on the touchpad of a small laptop. And while I often work from home, now that it's summer, I try to go outdoors with my dog and work from an "outdoor office".

How long did it take to complete your project?
This particular project took about a week, because the work went smoothly for both me and the art director.

What is your dream commission?
A dream commission is not a commission, but my project. Together with my studio partner, we create comics, and it would be cool to publish a full-fledged book, a graphic novel.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Hands. People. People with hands. :)

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
Draw a lot, draw what you really like. Initiate your own projects. Do some sports to support your back health.

What are your plans for the future?
To draw documentary graphic novels, award-winning book covers, edgy media illustrations, and enjoy all of it.
