Why did you choose to enter this work?
It was the first major project I took on after graduation, and it was special to me. This project was an initial recognition for me from the creative industry.

What’s your favourite thing about your shortlisted project?
I love the colours used in each illustration in this project. I think the colours represent me very well. I also learnt a lot about branding and the brand guidelines by taking on this project.

What excites you most about being shortlisted?
I presume my project can be viewed by people within the creative industry, and I look forward to potential project collaborations afterwards!

Where do you usually work?
l often work in my home studio or library, or a café. If I'm at home, I usually work in the evenings.

How long did it take to complete your project?
It took two weeks from accepting the brief to the end. It was a big challenge for me. I've never had to deliver four illustrations in two weeks, but I did it!

What is your dream commission?
My dream commission would be to illustrate non-fiction books about the universe, nature, and human health.

What’s your favourite thing to draw?
Nature, community, something colorful.

What is your best tip for other illustrators?
My advice: Enter as many competitions as you can, don't be afraid to send cold emails, and actively take part in offline events - many opportunities come simply from talking to people.

What are your plans for the future?
I hope to work on illustration commissions for a wide range of clients, including brands and magazines. I'm also very eager to illustrate non-fiction books.
