  • Why did you create this work?
Safety explores the connection between identity and security through a picture book for adolescents. A dog disguises itself as a human to fit into society, changing its appearance and attending gatherings. At one party, it realizes everyone is pretending to be animals, making it feel out of place again. Eventually, the dog returns home, sheds its disguise, and finds true security in being itself. The story questions self-acceptance versus conformity, encouraging readers to be themselves.
